Opposition Political Parties Not Happy With The Police’s Stance On Public Order Act

The New Heritage Party and the Democratic Party-DP have described Police demands for political campaigns during this year’s electoral process as an abuse of Public Order Act-POA.

In separate interviews, New Heritage party running mate, Samuel Kasankha says that the requirement is not realistic as campaign activities are conducted daily.

And DP Spokesperson, Nkonge Justin says the party will go full throttle to conduct various campaign activities without notifying the police, as it is their constitutional right.


The Inspector General Kakoma Kanganja is quoted stating that political parties need to notify police of any community activities and processions including door to door campaigns in order to avoid clashing with other political.
